Waterford Hills
Report:
Last month we
turned down the May 2008 date for a Waterford race being that it conflicted with
the CES Gingerman race date. We also reserved Friday July 18, as a test and
tune date. The test and tune date was discussed and the general membership
decided to give up that date also since there was diminishing interest on the
part of our 2007 racers and our club members for such a race. There were
several factors that were over-riding in the decision. 1) The operating hours
for the test day were Noon to 4 PM. 2) The rental price per hour was deemed
too high. 3) There was no race at Waterford Hills to compliment the test day.
Next year, 2009 we
are on the calendar. We will have an event at waterford

Scoring system rental was discussed
and circumstances for the WKA Daytona Was discussed. Jim Farr explained.
The root of the issue was lack of communication. Some members feel the club
should be formalizing the rental of all equipment and limiting the exposure
of the equipment. Other feel tha the betterment of karting is more
important than formalizing and strictly policing all activities and that the
club is better off promting a friendly atmosphere> There was a request from
Joe Presnell for President Bill Anderson to draft a formal Rental Contract
similar to that used by AMB

Web Site progress was discussed. Cary
Lorang felt that the web site needed an upgrade. He was having problems
viewing all aspects for the site in his home PC. It was determined that the
issue was that the site is architected with MS Front Page and that Cary is
using the Fire Fox Browser, not MS Internet explorer. Users of explorer can
view everything. Ace Wheelie took all the inputs under advisement and is
making changes
